Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a family that included musicians. Growing up, she listened to lots of traditional music as well as older boleros. She also listened to traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana enjoys tangos operas and other theatrical performances. She was taught by her mother to sing, however she began more intensive training in vocals with Flavio Belcerra at 16 when he was a renowned Mexican opera tenor. Her music training continued in the School of Music of Guadalajara University. Later, she attended the School of Sacred Music of Toluca. In Guadalajara and Mexico City, she was a member of many opera ensembles as well as chamber groups. She sang in the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus in the United States before moving to Southern California. She currently performs classic Latin American songs at private occasions as a soloist. As a teacher and musician Ana is a dedicated participant in numerous community projects due to her enthusiasm and love for music. Ana was also a member of the Community Chorus of Redlands. The Inland Master Chorale. and the Performance Loft. Ana hopes that by sharing her knowledge of Latin American traditional songs, that she will inspire a love, especially among the younger generation, for keeping this music alive.
