Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born on July 8, 1989 in Paris. When she moved to Oxfordshire at the age of five, Emma enrolled at The Dragon School. When she was six years old, Emma was aware that she wanted to be an actress and for many years she trained at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school in which she was taught the art of acting and dancing. She had already performed in numerous Stagecoach as well as school plays by the time she was ten years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) was the movie version to J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was filmed for the very first time back in the year 1999. Emma was identified by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman told Emma along together with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe that they had all been through eight straight auditions. Emma's film debut coincided with the release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The film is 2001's top production, and it broke records on opening day and first weekend. The film was praised by critics, as were the performances of its three starlets. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her performance. Emma received the Young Artist Award as the most outstanding young actor in a Feature Film. She was later nominated five times for her part in the film.
